FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Is Traveler Ranch accessible?
Traveler Ranch is located on natural mountain terrain with dirt paths and uneven ground, which may present challenges for those with limited mobility. We are happy to accommodate to the best of our ability—please reach out ahead of time so we can discuss any specific needs.
At this time, horseback riding activities require the ability to mount and dismount with limited assistance, but we welcome guests of all abilities for non-riding experiences such as horse encounters, Retreats , and or event venue gatherings.
What should I wear and bring?
We recommend dressing comfortably and appropriately for the season. Tehachapi weather can vary, so layers are always a good idea.
For riding or horse-related activities, please bring:
Closed-toe shoes or boots with a low heel (absolutely no sandals or open-toed shoes near horses)
Comfortable jeans or riding pants
A hat and sunscreen for sun protection
Water bottle to stay hydrated
Optional: Gloves and a light jacket depending on weather
We provide helmets and all necessary horse equipment.
If you’re joining us for a retreat or special ceremony, we’ll provide any additional recommendations in your confirmation email.
What are the safety guidelines and age requirements?
Your safety is our top priority. All horse activities are guided one-on-one or in small, private groups with experienced instruction.
Minimum age: 10 years old for horseback riding sessions
All minors must be accompanied by an adult
We use gentle, well-trained horses and teach safety fundamentals as part of every experience
We ask that guests listen carefully to instructions, move calmly around the horses, and disclose any prior injuries or health concerns before participating.
What is your cancellation and weather policy?
We understand that sometimes plans change—especially when Mother Nature is involved.
Cancellations: We kindly ask for 48 hours’ notice for any cancellations or rescheduling. Cancellations with less than 48 hours’ notice may be subject to a cancellation fee.
Weather: Safety comes first. In the event of high winds, extreme heat, or storms, we may reschedule your session. We’ll contact you promptly if weather becomes a concern.
